This bookstore is fun with a whimsical decor. The espresso is also very smooth. At one point several of the employees started singing a song from Broadway, which was fitting given its proximity to Theater Row.
Also, if you’re looking for a fun things to do in the city, it has a collection of books that are organized really well. My daughter and I bought three because we want to explore our city more.
Great bookstore for actors and theater artists - a large variety of new, modern, and classic play scripts. Love the old posters and classic design. They have a few small seating areas in the front and back. The cafe also serves drinks and pastries. Free wifi for cafe and bookstore customers (password changed daily - printed on receipt). Staff was very friendly. There are also two all gender single stall public restrooms.
I really like the look and atmosphere of this place. It is really pretty and I love the feeling of studying in a bookstore(even if it’s just drama books). It has a bathroom that can be at times a bit too dirty but it’s better than nothing frankly. The tables are nice and clean, a nice place to study. There drinks are not that good but I don’t mind them.
Always loved this store and because he helped save it, Lin-Manuel has my eternal gratitude (even more than for his work). Great coffee too. NYC institution for actors.
